Young Artists Residencies

imagination spaces

For the exhibition strand of the Imagination Spaces programme, Farnham maltings and Surrey Libraries have teamed up with Surrey Artists Open Studios to offer residencies in three libraries to five Artists between 18-30 years old

Surrey is an expensive area to run a studio and, with the libraries being repositioned as community hubs, they make great locations for the young artists to work and connect from the heart of the community. It’s a great opportunity for library members to see an artist at work, and maybe get involved in a workshop. Following a successful open call and interview process, the young artists are busy planning workshops and figuring out how to adapt the library spaces as welcoming ‘studios’.

Introducing the five SAOS Young Artists in Residence at Libraries in Surrey.

SAOS in partnership with Surrey Libraries and Farnham Maltings are delighted to be supporting five young artists to work with libraries in the county as part of Imagination Spaces: bringing cultural events to your library. Delivered by Surrey County Council and Farnham Maltings. Supported by Arts Council England.
