Join Sam Jones as she shares with you her recent indigo research trip to Japan.

Sam travelled to Shikoku Island, Japan's historical region for the production of awa-ai (indigo), where she worked with indigo shibori artist Makiko Tokunaga and explored an indigo farm and dyehouses.

She also visited the indigo town of Arimatsu and ventured into the mountains to meet Hiroyuki Shindo at his Little Indigo Museum. Her final week was spent with indigo master Takayuki Ishii learning about sukumo vats and shibori.
