Come and join textile artist Sam Jones for an introductory indigo dyeing session.

Sam will show you how to create an indigo vat and introduce you to a variety of ways to pattern fabric using shibori techniques. You will learn several shibori methods, including kanoko and itajime, and have the opportunity to create a simple stitched shibori sample. Please be prepared to do some basic hand stitching (running stitch).

Once you've mastered the fabric patterning techniques, you'll have the option to create a fabric panel, which could be made into a cushion, or to dye a cotton scarf using your chosen shibori method.

This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, as the techniques can be adapted to suit everyone’s experience.
