This workshop is designed as an introduction to crochet. Experienced crochet tutor, Merrian Holland, has developed a small project that the parent and child (9+) can each make, learning together. Students will make a small bowl, teaching how to hold the hook and yarn, chain, make a single crochet (UK double crochet), how to slip stitch and fasten off. The bowl can also be embellished to make it unique. Learning is done through demonstration, practical application and the use of our class notes & photo tutorials.
A starter kit is provided for each participant which includes class notes, hook, yarn, wool needle and stitch markers. Exclusive access to video tutorials to help you complete the project at home if needed, or if you would like to make another bowl.
Please bring scissors, a notepad and a pen.
No previous crochet experience is required from either the parent or child. This workshop is aimed at students aged 9 and above with a participating adult (parent or guardian aged 18+).
