Dates & times

This workshop is about connecting with your body and letting the painting arrive through you. You’ll learn to trust your intuition, question, reflect, and discover your own style. It’s also about play: exploring materials, textures, and colours, learning new techniques, and finding joy, lightness, and freedom through the creative process.
We’ll begin with colour mixing, combining colours in an intuitive, playful way — intuition underpins everything in this workshop. Next, we’ll explore mark making, lines, and gestures. You’ll sketch and move expressively, letting your hands, arms, and body guide the rhythm using crayons, pencils, and watercolours. We’ll also work with the expressive fluidity of watercolour, learning to let go of control and watch the painting emerge. You’ll create abstract shapes and backgrounds, layering texture and depth.
In the second part, we’ll reflect and refine. By reviewing what has emerged and deciding what to develop, you’ll create a small abstract series that reflects your unique voice.
