In this workshop you will learn to experiment in your painting by combining ink and watercolour. Here you have the opportunity to try many exciting techniques which can be used for all subjects.

Julie will give you lots of practical information on materials, techniques, composition, drawing and colour.

The workshop is designed for you to explore your creativity and be as open minded as possible about your work.

Julie will demonstrate various ways of working, with one demonstration in the morning and another in the afternoon. She will show you how to work from life and how to work more freely.

Materials needed:

  • Fine waterproof drawing pen (size 0.3)
  • One wax household candle
  • Any watercolours you have (if you need advice please contact Julie)
  • Waterproof drawing ink & any other ink you have
  • Watercolour paper, Cartridge paper, notebook & a Sketchbook
  • 2 waterjars
  • Mixing palette
  • Drawing board
  • hb pencil & eraser
  • pen & biro
  • watercolour brushes
  • dipping pen (optional- available online or at Pullingers in Farnham).

Optional materials: Quick or similar, coloured wax crayons, Please bring liquid acrylic if you already have it or buy one pot if you’d like to use it.
