Take inspiration from the museum’s natural dye garden and learn how to grow, harvest and process natural dye plants.

Join natural dye textile artists Ginny Farquhar and Sam Jones for an informative, interactive session learning all about traditional dye plants and those that yield colour.

Using the museum dye garden as inspiration, gain practical tips and advice on how to grow your own plants for colour, including choosing the right site and soil, sowing and planting seeds, cropping, and safely storing harvested materials.

You will also learn how to extract dye to make an ink to paint with.

All materials and a starter dye seed kit are included. No prior experience needed.
