Julie studied painting at the University of Reading 1980-84 and has received numerous awards for her paintings, including the prestigious ING Discerning Eye, three awards form the Royal Watercolour Society and two from the Royal West of England Academy. She exhibits widely in the UK & internationally. Her 7th book “The Colour Mixing Companion” is published in 2022 and she has been a freelance writer for the Artist magazine since 1999. During 2021 Julie was elected Member of the Society of Women Artists and she is also a RWA Network Member.
