A three-week course where you can create a perfect fit dress block to your measurements. You will be able to use this as your 'own' block to create skirts, tops and dresses.

Successful dressmaking projects rely on a properly sized pattern. This course takes you through the steps to size a basic block, and create a perfect fit dress block to your own measurements. Once adjustments have been made, you will be able to use this as your own ‘block’ to create skirts, tops and dresses.

Previous sewing experience required.

Materials required:

  • 2 x rolls of greaseproof paper, or other white pattern paper.
  • An HB pencil and eraser and Biro pen.
  • Scotch invisible tape.
  • Tape measure.
  • Paper scissors.
  • Tracing wheel (with sharp points).
  • 2.5 metres x 92 to 114cm wide calico.
  • Sewing machine in working order. Bring power/ foot pedal.
  • Bobbin, thread and spare needles.
