This is a three-week course which will take place on Fri 28 June, 05 July & 12 July.

A three week course where you will learn how to take an accurate copy paper pattern from a favourite garment and cut it out in similar prototype ‘toiling’ fabric.

Using your sewing machine you will sew it together, and then it can be trial fitted on you personally, and adjust the pattern as necessary, ready for you to cut out in your final fabric.

Previous sewing experience required.

Materials required:

  • Garment to copy (bring a couple which are not too complicated)
  • Two rolls greaseproof paper, or other white pattern paper
  • An HB pencil and eraser
  • Scotch invisible tape
  • Tape measure
  • Tracing wheel (with sharp points)
  • Paper scissors
  • Biro pen
  • Sewing machine in working order. Bring power/ foot pedal
  • Bobbin, thread
  • Spare needles
  • Similar prototype ‘Toiling’ fabric

Other items such as set squares and metresticks will be supplied.
