Join watercolour artist Kristina Kivu for a day of learning how to paint abstract landscapes.
This workshop is a journey of self-expression. You’ll experiment with colours, marks, scribbles and textures, letting your intuition lead as your artwork evolves naturally, without expectations.
You will be guided to explore watercolour techniques that focus on texture and movement, including working wet-on-wet with lots of water, lifting paint, splatters, simple mark-making and creating effects with materials such as salt. These exercises invite you to work intuitively and discover your own colour combinations, marks and rhythms, which you can use to create any expressive landscapes.
There will be plenty of watercolour demonstrations and one-to-one support throughout. You’ll have time to experiment, build confidence and begin exploring your own style. This workshop encourages spontaneity and play, helping you reconnect with the joy of creating.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with watercolour experience. There will be a lunch break—you're welcome to visit the Maltings Café or bring a packed lunch.
All materials are provided, and you’ll receive a full watercolour kit to use during the session and take home.
Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
