For this workshop we will be learning how to paint portraits in oils working from photographs. We will start with an introduction to the fundamentals of oil painting including a short painting demonstration. We will then look at how to build a portrait using line, blocking in shapes, looking at tonal values and warm and cool colours. The aim will be to increase our observational skills and to capture a likeness of the subject.

Suitable for all abilities.

All materials provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own paints and brushes. Please wear old clothes and/or apron.
