find out how to research our collections, archives and enjoy our library

A view of a wooden table and an open book inside a library

Our local studies library is a treasure trove of information on Farnham which cannot be found anywhere else. We have maps, census data, parish records, electoral rolls, street directories, newspapers, a photographic archive and more. Most of the collection is held on the open shelves for you to browse as reference materials.

research enquiries

Due to restoration project being carried out to the front façade of our building, a large majority of our collection will be inaccessible for public research. Therefore, we are unable to support research requests or provide access to our collections and archives for the duration of the project. This will be reviewed in autumn 2025.

Self-guided visits to the local studies library are welcome, which is open to visitors during normal museum opening hours
