Suitable for beginners to colourwork, or those with some experience wishing to make more impact. If you haven’t done colourwork before, you’ll come away with lots of tips for how to select your colour palette, manage your yarn and avoid common mishaps. For those who have already ventured into colourwork, you’ll be armed with plenty of tips to make your stitches shine!

With three patterns, designed to teach specific techniques, you’ll leave with a sample of three patterns, confidence and a workbook to help remember the essentials.

Sample 1: colour. How to select colours to stand out and contrast.

Sample 2: managing floats. Tips and tricks to manage floats and yarn when you’re working with colourwork, to reduce tangles and frustration!

Sample 3: colour dominance. This simple technique will help make your patterns reach their full potential, with some stitches standing out more than others.

We'll be working with these tips knitting flat, but can example transferring them to knitting in the round. Expect to come away with a knitted sampler, and so many ideas to apply to your knitting.

Materials required

DK or aran-weight yarn in at least three colours, with matching gauge-size needles. Suitable for beginners to colourwork, students should be confident with knit and purl stitches and knitting flat.
