In this workshop you will learn how to knit a point to point scarf or shawl, starting with an increase triangle, working a straight centre section and ending with a matching decrease triangle. We will explore customising the pattern with different yarn fibres and weights, altering the finished size of the scarf or shawl and maximising yarn use.

During the workshop we will plan and cast on a small Level Crossing scarf, which can be completed after the class. The Level Crossing pattern will be provided for participants. This pattern was designed by Emma and originally published in Knitting magazine issue 267.

Please bring to the workshop:

  • appropriate knitting needles for your chosen yarn eg 4mm
  • a minimum of 112m DK yarn for a small scarf (eg 1 x 25g ball Cardiff Cashmere or equivalent)
  • Or approx 120-150m of DK yarn for a larger scarf

Intermediate level: Attendees should be familiar with increasing and decreasing techniques such as "kfb" and "k2tog". This class is designed for knitters wishing to explore ways to customise and personalise their knitting.
