In this masterclass you will delve into the different shading techniques in pyrography and have the option to create a more complicated design, incorporate gilding and paint to enhance your work.

Painting and gilding takes time so you will get the most out of this if you have already created a piece to paint/ guild. Alternatively, you can spend the first few hours creating one piece and then spend time painting, gilding, burning again and finishing off.

The tutor, Ruth Wheeler, has developed this new workshop as previous participants have requested to learn how Ruth creates the copper patina effect, use of different textures and introduction of gilding with coppers, golds and silver to create her stunning new works.

This workshop is suitable for people who have some experience of using a pyrography machine. However, Ruth can run over the basics if you are new to pyrography.

There will be an option to purchase frames to complete your masterpiece as well as extra wood for sale.

Please bring previous work or designs and photocopies for inspiration.
