Be Introduced to the art of pattern cutting. Over 6 weeks you will use your own measurements to create and toile (make samples of) three simple pattern blocks (skirt, trouser and darted bodice). We will then explore how to refine and improve the fit and add your own design flare.

Full instructions booklet and guidance will be provided throughout the course. Drafting equipment will be provided. (drafting paper, rulers, tape measures, pens, pencils)

Materials required: at least 3m of calico/low cost cotton fabric and thread for creating toiles.

Sewing machines should be brought along each week, machines can be provided on request.

Fittings are key to success so as we work through the course you will want to wear clothing that is easy to try thing on over or under. To get the most from this course a small amount of work between sessions will be helpful but not essential.
