Discover the captivating world of fused glass in this three-hour workshop, led by award-winning glass artist Caroline Small of Bombina Glass Studio. Using fine glass stringers – delicate threads of fusible glass – you’ll learn to create mesmerising optical wave patterns that flow and shimmer with colour and light.

Caroline will guide you through every step, from safely cutting and arranging glass to understanding how glass reacts when heated — how temperature, timing, and material compatibility influence movement, colour, and texture in the kiln. You’ll design and assemble your own 15cm x 15cm fused glass bowl, experimenting with colour combinations and patterning to create a truly individual piece.

After the workshop, your creation will be kiln-fired at Bombina Glass Studio and returned to Farnham Maltings for collection approximately one week later.

Perfect for both beginners and those with some experience, this workshop offers a relaxed, inspiring environment to explore, learn, and enjoy the mindful process of working with glass. Leave with new creative confidence, a deeper understanding of glass behaviour, and a beautiful one-of-a-kind artwork to treasure.
