Whitchurch Silk Mill will be demonstrating the traditional skills involved in silk ribbon weaving, including hand-finishing and trimming ribbons and assembling a dobby chain, which controls the patterns woven on the loom.

Visitors can discover the heritage machinery and techniques used to preserve this critically endangered craft, as well as have a go at weaving for themselves on a Saori loom.
