The Local Premiere of Beowulf by Rod Hughes - Saturday 25 July, 4pm

Beowulf by the Dolly Wagglers is a feature film from first time director Rod Hughes. Beowulf, one of the earliest stories recorded is set in the 5th century and performed in unique fashion with drama and jeopardy, Anglo-Saxons meet the Muppets maybe describes it.

Filmed entirely on location in Devon, the film portrays stunning views and the unusual soundtrack by alternative Swedish folk artist Ulrika Igraine and Steve Tyler’s mastery of period instruments adds an evocative atmosphere to the film and this performance.

Rod is better known as a bladesmith based in Grayshott who makes swords for museums, TV and film, so, in the spirit of Beowulf’s heroic story, expect battles and weaponry but not as you’ve ever seen before.
