Join experienced crochet tutor, Merrian Holland, for an introduction to crochet for a parent and child.

Students will make a small bowl, learning how to hold the hook and yarn, chain, make a single crochet (UK double crochet), how to slip stitch and fasten off. The bowl can also be embellished to make it unique.

Learning is done through demonstration, practical application and the use of our class notes and photo tutorials.

All materials are provided. This includes a kit for each student: 50g cotton yarn, 2g of contrast yarn in black and white, good quality crochet hook, locking stitch markers, wool needle, class notes with step by step instructions, pre-made eyes and starting section (a small piece of pre-made crochet to get you started).

Additionally, parents/guardians will receive a link to video tutorials and class resources in case the project needs to be finished off at home and/or to make another bowl.

No previous crochet experience is required from either the parent or child.
