Discover the beautiful art of botanical pyrography in this relaxed and inspiring workshop with Ruth Wheeler. Perfect for beginners and those with some experience, this course combines observation, drawing and woodburning to create a unique botanical artwork.

You will begin by exploring a selection of real seed heads, flowers and plants, learning how to observe their intricate shapes and textures. If you prefer, you may also work from your own photographs or transferred designs. After practising essential pyrography techniques on a sample burn sheet, Ruth will guide you through creating your final design on either a round or square plywood panel. Throughout the day, you will learn how to achieve different tones, textures and decorative effects using a pyrography tool. Once your design is complete, you can enhance it with colour and, if desired, add touches of gold leaf for a beautiful finished piece.

This friendly workshop offers plenty of individual guidance and creative freedom, allowing you to develop your own style while learning new skills.
