how we programme at the Maltings

We present predominantly theatre, music, comedy and film for all ages including family shows.

We sometimes programme a small amount of circus, cabaret, dance and spoken word throughout the year and we programme a limited amount of small-scale work outdoors from May – September.

We programme professional touring work in different spaces throughout our building, mainly in our Great Hall (max seated capacity 410), Tindle studio (max seated capacity 100), or Cellar Bar (max seated capacity 120).

We have limited slots across art-form, and we make programming decisions roughly up to 12 months in advance.

Our current programming priorities/focuses are:

  • Companies that are looking to develop relationships with audiences in Farnham, Surrey and the South East
  • Work that could have wraparound activity and build relationships with communities local and integral to Farnham Maltings
  • Musicians and artists particularly coming out of the local music scene, who have a developing audience
  • Shows suitable for children and families, particularly those that are representative of diverse communities and current topics.

For programming proposals please email the relevant contact with the title of the show and company in the subject heading. Please provide a tour pack, images/videos of work if you have them and information about who the work is for.

For technical specifications and information about our spaces click here.

For invites to see work please email the relevant contact with the title of show and company in the subject heading. Please be aware that we are a very small team and are not always able to travel to see work, but if you can give us 6-8 weeks’ notice we will have a better chance of getting there.

We will do our best to reply to every direct enquiry we receive, though please bear in mind this can take a few weeks due to the volume of emails we receive. But we would like to thank you in advance for your interest in Farnham Maltings.
