Tim Kennedy creates handmade ceramics inspired by the natural world and the fascinating array of textures and forms that can be found all around us; from rotting tree bark, eroded rock formations to plant algae and microscopic germs. Processes involve the use of many hand forming techniques to create organic textural vessels that echo the ancient aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi and celebrate the imperfections and unpredictability of the ceramic making process. Surfaces undergo manipulations and textural additions and the pieces are glazed and fired - often multiple times using layering of oxides and glazes to further interact and alter the forms.
