Sylvia is a UK designer who loves bold patterns and striking colours. She learned to knit at the age of 8 years old and is a prolific knitter, using her African heritage as well as her Scottish upbringing for inspiration in her knitting.
Sylvia was a runner up in the UK Channel 4 TV programme, Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas Jumper in 2018, with her African inspired Christmas sweater and has patterns published in Knit Now and Pompom Quarterly, By Hand publication, Taproot and other publications.
Her most recognisable pattern to date is the Nubian Queen jumper and her recent Village Life cardigan. A qualified teacher, Sylvia uses her skills in teaching Intarsia colourwork workshops and other knitting techniques.
