Splice+Fid is a family business that brings together natural fibres and dyes, function and beauty, ropework and daily life. Laurence Knoop lives with his young family on a roving narrowboat on the canals and rivers of England and Wales, making baskets and mats using flax rope and incorporating natural dye. His work draws on the traditions of knotting and weaving to create products that are both functional and decorative.
