Founded by Polly Leonard, Selvedge is a bimonthly magazine dedicated to cloth culture, read by a global community ranging from museum directors in Austria to weavers in India. Driven by a lifelong passion for fiber, making, thinking, and writing about textiles, Polly views cloth not just as a material, but as a culturally loaded commodity carrying the weight of human history, playing a vital role in global trade, the Industrial Revolution, and the technological age. Celebrating the richness of cotton, linen, silk, mohair, and wool, Selvedge explores how textiles communicate identity and shape the narrative of human civilization.
