I am a weaver and dyer, and create landscape inspired woven art combined with embroidery, and highly-textured contemporary framed pieces. My work is drawn from the natural world around me. I want to capture the serenity and beauty of nature and landscapes and infuse the emotions they evoke into my weavings. Hand-dying my own yarns for weaving landscapes also gives me such an breadth of hues for each piece, and creates the delicious tonal variations that really help the weavings come alive. It really is like painting with yarn!
