Oxford Biocolours
festival exhibitor

Jim and Darren are two chemists who turned their love of colour and craft into Oxford biocolours. Using some clever science, they've developed a plant dyes that deliver sustainable and colourfast hues, without needing petrochemicals or mordants. They use British wool, sourced and spun in the North of England, and dyed in partnership with a family-run dye house in the Scottish Borders. This results in beautiful, softly toned hanks with a story: science from the lab, wool from British farms, and natural colours that last. Oxford Biocolours is here to give knitters a truly sustainable colour choice, without compromising on quality.
