Mahliqa specialises in hand knitted and crocheted mixed media jewellery, using gemstones, crystal, precious metals, hand dyed silks and yarns.

As a British South-Asian, Mahliqa’s designer, Suraya draws on her cultural heritage of arts and handicrafts from Bangladesh and is influenced by ancient Mughal jewellery styles.Her pieces use fine wires to replicate the delicate filigree work of Persian jewellery artisans of old. The collections exude a delicate, iridescent beauty, recapturing the elegance and opulence of past times.

Suraya will also be exhibiting her knitting and crochet patterns that are inspired by her heritage and concern for climate change.
