Lucy Cooper
Lucy Cooper creates screenprints which evoke memories of much-loved places, objects, or moments of reflection. She uses colour and composition to create art that is both uplifting and contemplative, exploring sometimes unexpected combinations of colour and pattern to reinterpret familiar sights and to stimulate viewers’ own personal memories and responses.
The silkscreen process itself both informs and develops the work, encouraging her to strip back and simplify the subject and to focus on the interplay of colours, shapes and negative spaces.
Lucy has exhibited in a number of galleries and group exhibitions around the UK including Watts Contemporary Gallery, Bankside Gallery, the Bainbridge Open, and Oxmarket Contemporary. She is a member of Southbank Printmakers and has had work selected for the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair or its Director's Cut for the past four years.
