Lucy Cooper is a Brighton-based printmaker who creates limited edition silkscreen prints. Her style is contemporary and minimalist, with a focus on colour and form. Her subject matter typically comprises imagined or re-envisaged views or still lifes, and she enjoys exploring uplifting and sometimes unexpected combinations of colour to reinterpret familiar sights. The screenprinting process itself both informs and develops Lucy’s work, encouraging her to strip back and simplify the subject and to focus on the interplay of colour, pattern and negative spaces.
