Liz is passionate about playing with colour, both as a natural dyer and knitter. She has been experimenting with colour in knitting since the 1980s, using a variety of techniques include stranded, intarsia, mosaic, brioche and stacked stitches. Before COVID, Liz taught various colour work knitting classes at Loop and Wild & Woolly. Last Autumn Liz launched a colour work shawl class at Loop, based on the Florence Shawl.

Liz's knitting heroes are Kieran Foley, Kaffe Fassett, Stephen West and Kate Davies. She is inspired by Shetland Knitting traditions too, plus stranded colourwork from northern Europe. She also designs, mostly to showcase her naturally dyed yarn. Liz makes a lot of accessories – shawls, hats and gloves; but also some garments. Liz love to learn new techniques and experiment, so loves swatching.
