Ian turns bowls, ‘tall forms’ and loose lidded boxes from local or sustainable hardwoods in West Sussex using renewable energy. His turnings revolve around flared and straight sided bowl shapes which he incorporates into his ‘tall forms’ and boxes. He employs techniques of beading, ebonising, inlays and lime waxing in his turnings. He’s a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, ‘Find a Maker’, the Association of Sussex Artists and exhibits at Dansel Contemporary Wood Gallery, Dorset.
