Debbie Page Ceramics
festival exhibitor

Inspired by the traditional Korean Moon Jar and the Moon herself, Debbie Page Ceramics explores the decorative possibilities arising from the application of organic materials, glaze and smoke working individually and in combination together on the ceramic surface. Debbie am particularly attracted to the contrast of shiny coloured glaze and the matt black of raku and ‘smoke-on-glaze’ techniques. Their work is hand built using white bodied clays, eg Ashraf Hanna or Studio White; they coil into moulds to aid building the forms, joining sections together. The ‘Pail vases’ have handles made from found wood, attached with raffia.
