Black Isle Yarns is based in the Scottish Highlands where their owner, Julie Rutter, produces beautiful minimally processed yarns from local wool.

Every fleece is hand selected and then spun in the UK and is fully traceable from farm to yarn. As well as offering yarns in their natural undyed shades Julie naturally dyes them with locally foraged dye plants and sustainably sourced natural dye material. Julie’s yarns tell a story, with a sense of place and provenance from the Highlands where they are grown.
