Farnham Men in Sheds meet in a custom-built shed at space2grow, a community garden in the centre of town. The group provides a friendly environment for men to get together and respond to woodworking requests from local community and voluntary groups. Previous projects include: the construction of benches, a pizza oven and pond decking, work on cupboards for Hale Community Fridge and the Foodbank, as well as restoring fencing for the Museum of Farnham.
The group also work on smaller mending jobs for space2grow, so there is something for all levels of ability. Men in Sheds particularly welcomes those with woodworking experience, but the community project is also a space to learn.
''Men in Sheds has provided me with renewed interest and allowed me to engage in some old skills long forgotten. The team are great to work with and we have a lot of banter and lots of laughs. It is great making some new friends and take part in charity and communal projects.''KM
