Before they head to the National Theatre, the UCA Graduate Company cordially invites you to Till the Stars Come Down by Beth Steel.
“One day life as we know it ends. A comet crashes, an asteroid hits; everything that ever was is obliterated in an instant. One day the whole world will go up in flames. Fire: that’s how it ends.”
It’s Sylvia and Marek’s wedding. Over the course of a hot summer’s day, a family gathers to welcome a newcomer into their midst. But as the vodka flows and the guests hit the dance floor, passions boil over and the limits of love are tested.
Beth Steel’s heartbreaking and hilarious portrayal of a larger-than-life family struggling to come to terms with the changing world opened at the National Theatre, London, in January 2024. The play transferred to the Theatre Royal Haymarket, London, in July 2025.
‘A blistering comedy, full of the deepest, saddest truths about life and love. It’s Chekhov on Heineken – reaching the parts other plays don’t reach – Utterly unmissable.’ – WhatsOnStage
