Our summer concert presents music by Orlando Gibbons, celebrating his 400th anniversary and is conducted by award winning composer, Nicholas O'Neill. As a musical successor to William Byrd, Gibbons was a hugely versatile musician, writing madrigals, instrumental and sacred works, all of which will be represented in our programme tailored to a summer's evening.
In addition to his music, we will feature compositions by his contemporaries as well as later part-songs which adhere to the same musical values.
Audience members are encouraged to bring picnic chairs and hampers, and to join us for an alfresco picnic across the road in Gostrey Meadow following the concert.
The concert will be held in support of Shooting Star Children's Hospices who provide much-needed care for children and families dealing with life-limiting conditions.
