This event is part of 'Our Freedom: Then and Now', a nationwide project marking 80 years from the end of the Second World War, remembering those who gave so much for our freedom, and reflecting on what that freedom means to us now.

The inspiration for the project is the poem 'Freedom Road', by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage. 'Freedom Road' describes freedom as being on the move, seeing your neighbour's washing flapping in the breeze, strolling where you want and listening when people need you to.

Using the poem as a starting point, Becci Kenning of Art in Transit has engaged with communities and schools in the Farnham and Aldershot areas, working together to form a visual and audio installation for the public to come and view on Sun 09 November.

A public workshop will be taking place at Aldershot Library, Sat 04 October, 10.30am-2.30pm for anyone who would like to contribute to this project.
