Experience an exhilarating evening of Japanese Taiko drumming as internationally acclaimed Taiko Meantime return to The Maltings, joined by the outstanding young performers of Farnham Taiko.

Founded in Greenwich in 2001, Taiko Meantime blend the traditions of Japanese Taiko with influences from rock and jazz to create a thrilling and distinctive sound. Combining thunderous percussion, soaring melodies and breath-taking precision, they have captivated audiences worldwide. Their performance credits include theatres across the globe, appearances in Japan, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and regular slots at Glastonbury and WOMAD festivals.

Led by local Taiko player Mark Alcock since 2014, Farnham Taiko has become a much-loved part of the local arts scene. Known for their energy, enthusiasm and uplifting performances of Taiko drumming, the group recently achieved national recognition when they were invited to open the Music for Youth Prom at the Royal Albert Hall. They are also familiar favourites at community events including Farnham Fireworks, the Christmas Market and the Mayor's Concerts.
