This friendly, hands-on workshop is a great introduction to reduction lino printing.
You’ll learn how to design, carve and print from a single lino block to create layered, colourful prints.
The session covers the basics step by step, including safe cutting techniques, inking and printing, and how to build up an image through stages. You’ll experiment with colour and see how each print develops as the block is gradually carved away.
All materials are provided, and no previous printmaking or drawing experience is needed. Please also bring an apron, as we’ll be working with printing inks.
You’ll be guided step by step in a relaxed, supportive environment and will leave with your own small edition of original prints—perfect for beginners or anyone curious about printmaking.
Please note: carving tools require gentle pressure from your hands and wrists. Templates will be available, and you’re welcome to bring a simple image (no larger than A6) for inspiration.
