Learn how to make a small deer from just one stick! Using only a single rod of willow which we will split in two, we will weave, wrap and shape it into a three dimensional sculpture of a deer about 10cm tall.

The method is based on that used in prehistoric totems discovered in the 1930s by archaeologists in the western states of the USA. These 2,000-4,000 year old artefacts are known as 'split twig figurines'.

This is a fun class where you'll have time to make several sculptures. The first might look like a dachshund and the second like a giraffe! But by the third and fourth you'll be adding antlers ready to display them proudly!
