The Surrey Symphonic Wind Band presents an afternoon at the Proms with a special guest appearance by top jazz trumpeter, Enrico Tomasso who will be performing the Henry James Trumpet Concerto.

The programme will include music by Vaughan Williams, Wagner, Mancini, Hoagy Carmichael and more, culminating with the traditional classics, Fantasia on British Sea Songs and Pomp and Circumstance No.1.

Our guest soloist, Enrico is considered one of the top jazz trumpeters on the jazz scene and is six times winner in the best trumpet category at the British Jazz Awards. A popular figure at many of the European jazz festivals and clubs, he has an exciting presence and a lively personality on stage with his command of the instrument and stylistic invention, placing him in the top echelon.

Bruce Miller will be conducting the band. Bruce is a freelance conductor, composer and arranger. He was Director of Music of the Irish Guards Band and following his retirement from the regular army he transferred to the reserves where he is currently the Director of Music of the Honourable Artillery Company Band.

All profits from this event will be donated to the Alzheimer's Society. We look forward to welcoming you to a great concert and being able to support a worthy cause.
