productions
producingAlongside supporting the work of our produced and associate artists, we also commission and produce new theatre.
We tour our shows to towns and villages across the UK to enable people to come together, share experiences and enjoy quality theatre no matter where they live.
In spring 2024, Farnham Maltings stages a new play from one of Britain's most celebrated dramatists about growing up, healing and rock n' roll.
The Band Back Together by Barney Norris tells the story of Joe, Ross and Ellie who used to be in a band and are drawn back together for one night only to play a benefit gig in their hometown. Will the old songs still work their magic? And just how far has time thrown these friends from their younger selves?
The Band Back Together will open at Farnham Maltings in March 2023 before touring to communities across the UK throughout the spring.

Barney Norris is a playwright and novelist from Salisbury, Wiltshire. He is the co-founder of touring theatre company Up in Arms and author of multiple critically-acclaimed works. Throughout his work, Barney has returned to the lives of people from rural communities. In this, he is inspired by his own experiences of growing up on the Salisbury Plain. His commitment to the stories found at the margins of British society reflects a personal conviction that cities tell only one part of our nation's story.
Barney's plays include Nightfall (The Bridge Theatre); While We're Here (Up in Arms and Bush Theatre); Echo's End (Salisbury Playhouse); Eventide (Arcola Theatre); and the acclaimed Visitors (Up in Arms and Arcola Theatre) which won the Critics' Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright and was nominated for an Evening Standard Award.
