Even after you’ve cast off your final stitch, there are still lots of steps to completing a knit! This workshop will cover a range of techniques so you can give your projects a professional finish.

In this class you will cover:

  • How to weave in ends
  • Invisible seaming with mattress stitch
  • How to pick up stitches for a neckline or armhole
  • What ‘blocking’ is and why it’s a transformative finishing technique

Please note, participants will need to prepare and bring the following:

  • Two 10cm x 10cm square swatches using a smooth DK or Aran weight yarn in stocking stitch. Please leave the ends long, at least 20cm (don’t weave them in!)
  • Two 10cm x 10cm square swatches using a smooth DK or Aran weight yarn in garter stitch. Please leave the ends long, at least 20cm (don’t weave them in!)
  • A pair of 4mm or 5mm needles (straight or circular)
  • A pen

Participants are welcome to bring a project/WIP that is in need of finishing so, time permitting, we can discuss techniques.

All abilities are welcome, but participants must be confident with casting on/off, knit and purl.
