Using the screen-printing process to transpose images directly onto paper and cloth, explore how pattern, shape and colour can be a creative means of expressing 2D forms.
Join artist Hermione Thomson to make several prints using a range of pre-exposed patterned screens which will help inform your designs. After making hand-cut paper stencils you can then create your own shapes to bring your own style of design to your pieces. You will learn how to mix colour, make stencils and screen print onto a tote bag to take away.
This is fully supported workshop where beginners are very welcome.
Please bring an apron as it can get messy and a few images to inspire your cut-paper stencils and print designs, e.g. drawings, photographs, postcards, art books etc. It would also be helpful to have a notebook/ sketchbook and pencil/pen.
