Family Activity Trail

wriggle and scribble your way around Farnham

Families are invited to head to the start of the trail at Farnham Maltings, pick up a free activity sheet and embark on a short walk around Farnham following colourful vinyl stickers adhered to the pavements. Along the way, children will be invited to undertake creative activities, from drawing to doing a giant word-search and playing air guitar at the Gostrey Meadow bandstand.

The trail will be available for families to enjoy for up to three months. Age guidance is 3+. The route will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.

We want to ensure that all activity trail goers have a safe experience. Please note that the activity trails are self-led and we ask parents and guardians to accompany and supervise children at all times. If locations are busy, please come back when it’s quieter.

“A wonderful interactive trail. Helping children to use their own decision making skills in learning how to play, which meant they were not only exercising their bodies but also their minds”

who created the trail?

A Line Art was formed in 2010 with the mission of creating moments of childlike wonder which activate and nurture audiences' own artistry and creativity. Their kaleidoscopic approach to theatre and art making is inclusive, accessible and distinctive. They have a strong illustrative playful aesthetic and their work is made for traditional (theatres, festivals, museums and libraries) and non traditional arts spaces (schools, shopping centres and public spaces) locally, nationally and internationally.

There are further family activity trails to enjoy in neighbouring towns of Godalming and Haslemere. Pick up a trail at the following locations:

Godalming Library (Bridge St, Godalming GU7 1HT) and Haslemere Education Museum (78 High St, Haslemere GU27 2LA)

Waverley Borough Council Economic Development, and Cultural Services teams, have been working in partnership with Farnham Town Council, Farnham Maltings, and A Line Art to develop these trails which are also taking place in Haslemere and Godalming.
