We enjoy showering the local community with the fuzzy warm feeling of the festive season by hosting our wonderful, annual Christmas Fair. This year, with over 140 local businesses and entrepreneurs offering delicious homemade food, handmade crafts, jewellery, and decorations; there will be an abundance of ideas of Christmas gifts for your loved ones. Come and experience this late night shopping event from Wednesday 29 November to Thursday 30 November and treat yourself to some festive nibbles and fizz.

Here are the highlights of Christmas events and shows coming up…

live: theatre, ballet & choir

The Maltings remains a venue which many local choirs and production companies like to return to every year with their exhilarating new shows.

Ballet Cymru: The Light Princess | Tue 05 Dec | 7pm

The renowned ballet company returns with an evening of magical dance and a new full-length ballet for 2017 with a new score by brilliant Welsh composer Catrin Finch in collaboration with The Riverfront Theatre in Newport, The Light Princess is the lightest and brightest dance event of the year. Drawing inspiration from Sleeping Beauty, this live ballet will transport you into a world of laughter, beauty and wonder. Perfect for the whole family.

Rushmoor ‘Odd Fellows’ Male Voice Choir | Thu 07 Dec | 7:30pm

For 57 years, the Rushmoor ‘Odd Fellows’ Male Voice Choir has been entertaining audiences with a repertoire ranging from classical to modern, from anthems and spirituals to show tunes and popular songs. This year the choir has selected to support local charity Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices for children and young adults to benefit.


Clare Teal: Festive Fiesta

Now in its eighth year, award-winning singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal serves up a sensational cocktail of seasonal fare with her fabulous trio, in her much loved Festive Fiesta that promises a dazzling evening of inspired music that that will get you into the Christmas mood.

FYC Christmas (2017) | Sat 16 Dec | 6:30pm

Join the Farnham Youth Choir who will perform a selection of songs from their Christmas repertoire together with the Junior and Alumni, including carols for the audience; for an evening of festive atmosphere of fun and celebration.

Screening: Royal Ballet: The Nutcracker 2017 | Mon 18 Dec | 7.15pm

Come and witness on screen, one of the most enduring and enchanting versions of The Nutcracker. With its festive period setting, dancing snowflakes and enchanting stage magic, Lev Ivanov’s 1892 ballet has become the perfect Christmas entertainment, with Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous, sugar-spun music the most recognisable of all ballet scores. Production by Peter Wright from the Royal Opera House.

We have a fantastic, festive selection of workshops for your crafty hands to get stuck into!

If you enjoy making your own Christmas home decorations, why not take a break from Christmas shopping at our December market and make some rustic decorations in this Make a Tiny Reindeer willow workshop?

Thinking of making your own tree decorations but have no idea how to go about it? Come along and spend a creative morning at the Christmas Ceramics Workshop making delicate shaped decorations to hang on your Christmas tree, or give to a friend as a present.

Join floral designer Jodie from Boutique Blooms to make and design a fresh foliage door wreath from scratch to take home for the festive season. Register your place at the Create a Christmas Wreath workshop.

Whilst we like to pretend Christmas can be for the adults, it really is all about the children. We’ve got two fantastic family events that all ages can enjoy.

Returning this Christmas after a triumphant reception last year, The Comedy Club 4 Kids: Christmas Cracker brings you the finest Christmas cracker jokes, tinsel tomfoolery, festive funnies and even Santa doing stand-up! Starring Comedy Club 4 Kids’ regular host Tiernan Douieb hims-elf, Howard Read of ‘Little Howard’ and CBBC fame, and a special guest. This show will be jam-packed with Christmas comedy to get you in the mood for the big day.

For our 2017 Christmas show, bring your children to the classic heart-warming story of the boy and penguin, a beautiful adaptation of Oliver Jeffer’s award winning picture book – Lost and Found brought to live on stage by Little Blue Monster Productions. Performing on Fri 22 & Sat 23 December at 11.30am and 2.30pm. Book your tickets here.
