Craft brings the community together and Farnham is full of makers of all ages and abilities. With the school half term approaching you might be wondering how to fill your week. The good news is that with October Craft Month underway that there are many events to choose from.  From art trails to Halloween-themed activities to online workshops, there’s something for all ages and interests.

A round-up of family-friendly activities

Surrey Hills Arts presents Heathland Artworks at RSPB Farnham Heath with an inspirational FREE circular trail of 12 installations. Craft, design and fine art students the UCA have created pieces focused on the wildlife, the flora or the history. Suitable for all ages.

Farnham Sculpture Park is sited within ten acres of woodland and features more than 600 ever-changing sculptures along a child-friendly two-mile trail. Admission is £10 (£5 concessions) thesculpturepark.com

Halloween themed activities at the Rural Living Museum from the 28-31 Oct. Spooky crafts and storytelling. Tickets must be booked in advance. Rural-life.org.uk

Take a stroll to the Herald Office on Lion and Lamb Yard to view the ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ community installation and visit the makers’ exhibition and pop up shop next door. making-matters.co.uk 10am-5pm, Wed-Sun.

Halloween cupcake decorating and Batik Art Making workshops are on the half-term line-up at Farnham Maltings £20 for 2-hour session, all materials provided Suitable for 6-12 year olds. farnhammaltings.com
