A session aimed at KS2 that gives an opportunity to find out how we use science in a museum. It links in with Science KS2– ideas, evidence, investigating and evaluating Science as well as looking at materials. It also links with Citizenship KS2. We can adapt this session for older or younger children.

In the Museum (2 hours)
• Talk about the work of a museum
• Find agents of deterioration around the museum (such as light, pests etc)
• Investigative activities such as measuring temperature and humidity
• Various activities around the museum to find out how we can preserve artefacts
Cost: £3 per child including all materials. Minimum charge per group: £90.
Please note that there is a charge of £20 if you wish to hire the Garden Gallery for lunch. Please inform us when you make the booking. You are welcome to visit the rest of the museum in the afternoon provided the children are in groups of no larger than 8 per adult.
